How Your Skin Can Benefit From AHA’s To Look It’s Radiant Best

If you aren’t at all familiar with the term AHA or alpha hydroxy acid, then the word “acid” alone may scare you off, but alpha hydroxy acids are simply natural compounds derived from natural sources with powerful skin smoothing and refining properties that will seriously bring out your inner glow!

In this article, we want to let you in on just 3 of our favorite alpha hydroxy acids, what they can do for your skin and where you can find them all in one product!

Let’s dive in and read our way to radiant skin!

Lactic Acid

This AHA gets us really excited because it’s truly one of the most powerful and effective exfoliants available today!

Lactic acid is unique in that it helps to provide a thorough exfoliation while increasing moisture levels on the top layers of skin, helping to improve the skin’s barrier function so you’ll experience less dryness and flakiness, especially during those cooler, harsher months.

Lactic acid helps to promote cell turnover, improves skin texture, reduces scarring and hyper-pigmentation and drastically brightens the complexion.

You’ll enjoy baby soft skin that is absolutely luminous and hydrated at a cellular level.

Tartaric Acid

Tartaric acid provides the same benefits as other AHAs but is mainly used to help maintain the ideal pH levels in the skin, allowing the other AHAs to truly work their magic!

The exfoliating properties of tartaric acid work to slough off dead cells on the skin's surface and stimulate collagen production resulting in tauter, more youthful skin and a beautifully radiant complexion.

Citric Acid

Derived from citrus fruits like oranges and lemons, this AHA is extremely concentrated and provides a heap of skin lovin’ benefits.

Powerful antioxidants fight the signs of aging, while anti-inflammatory properties help to reduce redness and promote a glowing complexion.

We have an absolutely excellent Enzyme Peel that contains an impressive 20% alpha hydroxy acids along with 10% fruit enzymes for a highly professional experience that you can enjoy in the comfort of your own home!

Our Enzyme peel is highly effective and we don’t recommend it if you have really sensitive, hyper-reactive skin.

Preparation: To prepare the skin for the Enzyme Peel, stop the use of all exfoliants and products containing acids prior to application. Perform a patch test on a small area of the skin to test the skin's sensitivity.

How to Use: Non-sensitive skin, apply a thin layer all over face, neck, chest, and forearms, avoiding eye area. Leave on 1-10 minutes depending on skin sensitivity and patch test results. Do not leave the peel on longer than a maximum of 10 minutes. Rinse thoroughly.

Light flaking and/or peeling is normal and common after using the Enzyme Peel. After using this peel, apply a moisturizer containing SPF 30+ in the AM.
